Rangili Raat

Rangili Raat, or literally, a colourful night. Indeed the night was very colourful. Even the incessant drizzle could not dampen our spirits. It was an annual event that everyone looked forward to. This time, they made it even bigger by proceeding the money earned to a charity home.

The night started off with a dance while awaiting the arrival of the VIP and VVIP. It was a rare occasion that so many people would be crowding our small lecture theatre to watch this special night.

The dance of lights performed by a bunch of girls.

Next up was a lively upbeat Kampung style dance. I don't really know about the genres in the Indian music but Kampung if I'm not mistaken is one with fast beats, very much like rock or techno.

Due to my seat which is unfortunately a bit too far away, I couldn't really get nice shots the entire night. The spotlights made matters worse as I kept on having to change the exposure. If only I had a new camera =) *hint hint*

The emcees of the night, beautifully decked in traditional Indian costume. Made many mouths water too =)

Another very traditional Indian dance, easily the hardest to learn if you ask me. The amount of coordination needed to execute this dance moves are extremely demanding. If you can do it, chances are, your cerebellum is very well intact.

There was also a duet but it didn't turn out that well to me as they were holding papers which contained the lyrics of the song and their voices were drowned by the music =)

My lecturer from Bukit Jalil also was convinced to make a guest appearance. But I think he sounds better last time, singing English songs while strumming the guitar. Tee Hee Hee

The children from the charity home that we were donating too came up with a well choreographed performance which ended with 3 pyramids being build. I think those are pyramids, right?

The main event of the night I guess was the drama. And the appearance of this motorcycle on stage easily drew the most cheers from the crowd.

This is the Kolum done by our canteen operator. Looks nice right. They were also very generous in sponsoring the food for the orphans who came.

There was also this fashion show for traditional costumes. The above belong to a certain Indian community which I forgot the name while the below belong to another group I think.

Also brought to you by a bevy of beauties.

And also traditional Indian wedding apparels. I think many thought of marrying that night perhaps? Their ovaries or testes got stimulated. LOL.

Throughout the night were held also other performances like dances, but to name a few. All in all, for the super tough work that everyone put in for about a month, it was definitely a Bang!
